EXPLORERS LIFELONG LEARNING INSTITUTE

WINTER INTERSESSION – 2010

 

The Explorers program of Salem State College is one of more than 400 Lifelong Learning Institute chapters across the U.S.  Membership is open to anyone 50 years of age or older.  Intersession programs are free and open to anyone of membership age.

Wednesday, February 10 – Why We Are Who We Are. – Explorers Grace Ittleman, Nancy Ramsden, Alan Schwartz, and David Rose look back at the influences that have profoundly affected their lives. During this interactive program, audience members are invited to participate in the discussion.   

 

Wednesday, February 17 – Tour of Galapagos Islands.  Observing the unique animal life on the Galapagos Islands was essential to Charles Darwin’s formulation of the Theory of Evolution.  Paul and Mary Harrington describe what they experienced when touring the Galapagos Islands.

 

Monday, February 22 –

Because of illness, the Winter Intersession lecture scheduled for February 22 has been replaced by “The Brooklyn Bridge” given by Suzanne Kiley.

 

Wednesday, February 24 – Current Events.  Marvin Berman moderates a lively discussion group examining local, national and international issues. Each participant is encouraged to bring articles or subjects of interest for discussion by the group.
